The Carousel Project is looking for an experienced animator and workshop artist for a heritage project ‘Local Stories’ in August. This would be to create an animation about iron working with 2-5 year olds. The iron workings animation will be a new and engaging way for young children in the Blackdown Hills to make sense of this unique area of their local heritage. With guidance from our heritage educator, the animator will come up with a film, in collaboration with the families, which presents this theme in a simple, fun way.
Experience of working with community groups (and preferably young children) is essential).
The animation work forms part of a project, ‘Local Stories’, which is a partnership between The Carousel Project, The Blackdown Hills AONB partnership and the Axe Valley and Honiton Childrens Centre. It is funded by the Sustainable Development Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund. Workshop dates will be the 13th, 14th & 15th August and each session will be 2 hours. Fee is £450 total including travel, materials and production of the animation (to be completed within 7 days of the last workshop date).
Deadline for applications 15th July.
