Beautiful film about Carousel Artist Tamsin Pender

We wanted to share this beautiful film following independent work by one of our Carousel artists, Tamsin Pender. Filmed at the wonderful Studio 36 and Double Elephant Print Workshop in Exeter UK, this film follows the work of bursary artist, Tamsin as she explores the art of printmaking in response to her work, which often involves creating interventions in public spaces using stitch and thread.

Contemporary Printmaking: Tamsin Pender from Workshops n’ Docs on Vimeo.

During 2013 Double Elephant led a series of Contemporary Artist Bursary programmes. None of the artists involved in the bursary programme were printmakers and specialised in a range of disciplines including: 3D, site-specific installation, music, art action & performance.
The aims were two-fold. To see how offering the chance to mid-career artists to explore printmaking over a period of time could develop and enhance their practice. And, through seeing alternative approaches and traditional processes challenged by the participating artists, further understand the nature of printmaking.
